Situated beside a wooden church, the tomb has a unique pyramidal shape reminiscent of Egyptian pyramids, enriched with Baroque ornaments.

History

The tomb of the von Eben and Mohring families, who occupied the nearby estate, was erected on the initiative of Major General Karl August Adolf von Eben and Brunnen in 1780. The author of the design was probably architect Carl Gotthard Langhans. In 2005, Barbara Kwiatkowska, Ph.D., from the University of Wrocław led the securing and survey work inside the tomb, in the course of which it was established that 27 (28?) people, mostly adults, were buried in the tomb.

Description

The tomb is located north-west of the wooden eighteenth-century church in a fenced area surrounding the church.

It is a free-standing building measuring about 8.5 m in height and shaped like a truncated pyramid, with an avant-corps featuring an entrance in the southern wall. The avant-corps is topped with an eaves cornice and covered with a flat roof, on which there is a tomb chest with relief heraldic cartouches of the buried families.

The pyramid is made of stone and brick. Unplastered walls are decorated with a stepped cornice running around the building at approx. 1/3 of the height. The lower part of the western and eastern walls are pierced by two elliptical openings surmounted by brick cornices designed in Baroque style. The entrance opening is rectangular in shape, closed with a steel door with decorative fittings. The single-space interior is currently not open to visitors.

The monument is open to visitors. Viewing is possible only from the outside.
