Opis
The village of Bystrzyca Górna – a typical Waldhufendorf with houses arranged along a single axis – stretches alongside the Bystrzyca river, about 8 kilometres south-west of Świdnica. The villa and park complex is situated on the slope on the south-eastern side of the main road, the Bystrzyca river and the railway track. It is separated from the nearby local road by a stone-lined escarpment with a terrace on top.
The building was designed as a suburban villa; in the surviving, pre-1945 iconography, the complex is referred to as Villa Heinrichslust.
Erected during the 19th century, it is a two-storey brick building designed in the Classicist style. It is a two-storey building. The middle section of the front façade takes the form of a three-axial avant-corps. The building was extended during the 20th century through the addition of two short transverse wings terminating with balconies facing the park. The individual sections of the building are covered with flattened hip roofs.
In recent years, the building saw use as a post-hospital treatment convalescence and rehabilitation centre. Today, the building is abandoned and dilapidated, with its technical condition continuing to deteriorate at an alarming pace.
The villa is surrounded by a park, now showing evident signs of the long period of neglect and flowing seamlessly into the woodland beyond.
The building is private property and can only be viewed from the outside.
