An example of manorial architecture from the second half of the 19th century, enjoying the status of a regional landmark.

History

The manor house was erected in the second half of the 19th century. Somewhere around the mid-19th century, the manor became the property of the Chełmicki noble family of the Nałęcz coat of arms, who have subsequently erected the existing edifice.

Description

The manor house along with the surrounding park is located in the northern part of the village of Świętosław. The manor house is a Baroque Revival building erected on a rectangular floor plan and featuring a pair of side avant-corps. It is a masonry structure with a basement, its walls covered with plaster. The two-storey avant-corps as well as the single-storey middle section are covered with gable roofs clad with sheet metal. The individual façades are separated by a broad, pronounced string course. The front façade follows an eleven-axial layout with a recessed portico in the middle. The side avant-corps are symmetrical in design, each of them following a three-axial layout. A tympanum with a semicircular window on the middle axis of each avant-corps provides the finishing touch. The window openings are rectangular in shape, framed with profiled plasterwork surrounds. A broad cornice positioned below the window sills can be seen at the ground-floor level of the building. Rusticated lesenes fill the spaces between the first-floor windows. The single-storey middle section of the manor house follows a five-axial layout. A portico with a pair of Tuscan columns and two engaged rectangular pillars supporting a simplified entablature is positioned in the centre of the façade. A rectangular entrance door framed with a profiled surround is positioned on the middle axis of the portico. The portico is flanked by rectangular windows on both sides. The windows positioned on both sides of the portico are flanked by pilasters. A decorative wall-dormer rises above the portico, featuring a semi-circular pediment flanked by volutes.
