History
Originally a concave hillfort, now partly destroyed - the rampart is levelled in the northern and southern part.
Description of the structure
Location of the heritage site. The local name of the hillfort is Okop Szwedzki, Grobla, and Okop Šfecki. Situated 800 m north of the village, 200 m from the forest, among meadows, between two drainage ditches, 200 m west of the road from Dakowy Mokre to Buk.
Description of the site. A concave hillfort, probably about 100 m in diameter; preserved height of ramparts up to 2 m, now forested
History of the site. Known in the second half of the 19th century, materials from the hillfort were in the collections of the Poznań Society of the Friends of Science in 1886 and 1918. Entered into the register of historic monuments in 1974.
Progress and findings of archaeological research. The hillfort was “excavated” in 1886 and 1918. In 1993 surface research was conducted as part of the AZP (Archaeological Picture of Poland) project.
Visitor access. The hillfort is open to visitors.
