History of the structure
The tenement house was built in the 1st half of the 19th century, probably after a fire in 1833 that consumed much of the town. It was built on the site of a former wooden house, which at that time were built along the internal roads called backstreets. Wrocławska Street used to be called Grosse Briegische Gasse.
Description of the structure
The building is situated in a densely built-up area of the western frontage of Wrocławska Street. It is located a short distance from the market square, in the centre of the old town layout. Situated with its ridge to the main road, it was built on a rectangular floor plan, elongated along the east-west axis. It is a brick, plastered, two-storey building with a high usable attic. The front eastern elevation is five-axis. The ground floor elevation is marked by a pattern of arcaded niches with rectangular window openings. In the middle on the axis is the main entrance. The level of the lower storey is separated by a prominent string course and the rectangular windows above it are covered with surrounds and topped with window cornices. The building is cellared and is covered with a high saddle roof with eyelid dormer windows. The north elevation is devoid of style. At the back of the building there is a small courtyard with outbuildings.
Visitor access: The monument is open to visitors.
