History
The windmill was erected at the end of the 19th century by the ancestors of the Walter family, owners of the mill since 2008. In the years 1930s the roof was reconstructed amd the windmill was fitted with new vanes (sails). The windmill was in operation until 1958.
Description
The windmill is located on the plot of land on a small hill on the southern side of the Łubianka-Rzęczkowo road. It is a wooden structure, on a rectangular floor plan, placed on the so called stand on a stone foundation. There are timber-frame walls, concealed vertically from the outside by wooden boards, with a joint covered with horizontal slat. Gable roof with weatherboarding, originally covered with roofing paper. The windmill was originally fitted with four sails. Most of equipment and mechanisms inside was preserved. The windmill - as the only one in this area, has a mechanism converted into the mechanism similar to the one used in Dutch-type windmills and paltrok mills. This change may be noted in the shape of the structure - introducing a knee wall covered with a flat gable roof on the top plate, often used when introducing new equipment.
Limited access to the historic building. The property of the Roman Catholic parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bierzgłowo. The structure can be viewed from the outside.
