History

Establishment of the park in 1850 was initiated by Anna von Humbert, a wife of the owner of the palace and park complex in Krajnik Dolny. The park originally included the southern part of the hills near Zatoń Dolna town, later its area was extended to the North, to the vicinity of the Krajnik Dolny village. The name “Dolina Miłości” [the valley of love] was popularised as early as in the 19th century and is commonly known. The park was formed and extended from the middle of the 19th century until 1930s. At that time it was owned by von Humbert family.

After 1945, the park has been forgotten for years. In 1992 it was entered into the register of historic sites. Restoration was carried out in the years 2010-2012 and it restored the former beauty of the park complex.

Description

Landscape and naturalistic park “Dolina Miłości” on the high shore of the valley of Odra River, which is distinguished by steeply formed buttress carved by deep ravines. It was established with the use of natural forest, currently it covers the area of approx. 80 ha. The area is thickly wooded, mainly with beeches, ashes, maples, chestnuts, less often with oaks, lindens and coniferous species. Within the area of the park three hiking educational trails were demarcated and are marked with boards.

Observation points located in convenient places serve tourist purposes, just as numerous structures of small architecture: gazebos, sheds, wooden umbrellas, benches and three car parks.
