Description
A Baroque church erected during the 18th century and redesigned in 1928, with subsequent renovation works having been carried out in 1965. The church is a single-nave structure with a shallow transept and a chancel in the south-west, the latter featuring a semi-hexagonal termination. The building features barrel vaults with lunettes; the chancel is flanked by two symmetrical annexes with flat ceilings. The tower, designed on a square floor plan and flanked by a pair of annexes, adjoins the nave to the north-east and is crowned with a bulbous cupola with a roof lantern. The front façade features a middle avant-corps which forms the base section of the tower above, flanked by volute-shaped fractables topped by ornamental urns. The entrance portal is relatively shallow - almost flat - and flanked by a pair of pilasters; identical pilasters are also used for the topmost storey of the tower. The side façades are partitioned by buttresses, with the transept gables being adorned with volute-shaped copings. The main body of the church features a mansard roof, while the transept is covered with a gable roof. The main altarpiece of the Sacred Heart of Jesus dates back to the period after the year 1800.
The building can only be viewed from the outside.
