History

The manor house and park complex was established in the mid-19th century.

Description

It is located in the south-eastern part of the village of Skłudzewo. It consists of the manor house, the utility building, the pumping facility and the surrounding park. The manor house was designed on a rectangular floor plan. It is a single-storey red brick building with a garret. It is covered with a gable roof clad with sheet metal. A basement is present underneath the entire structure. The manor house stands on stone foundations. The front (northern) features an avant-corps in the middle. A wide entrance door with a transom light consisting of five narrow lancets is positioned in the middle of the avant-corps. Above the entrance there is a trio of small windows, positioned beneath a profiled balustrade which surrounds the first-floor terrace above the porch. The garret level of the manor house is a timber-framed structure with brick infills; however, the tall gable in the middle is predominantly made of brick and features a balcony door flanked by a pair of windows. All three openings are topped with ogee arches and positioned inside a decorative, pointed-arch niche. The surface of the niche above the windows is adorned with a latticework pattern formed by ceramic pieces shaped as a four-leaf clover. The entire avant-corps is topped with a tall, gable roof with a small window in its upper section, above the pointed-arch niche. The side sections of the front façade at the second-floor level are timber-framed structures. The front avant-corps is closely flanked by a pair of wall-dormers topped with slender spires. The southern façade is similarly disposed to its northern counterpart. It also features an avant-corps, albeit designed on a semi-decagonal plan and featuring windows only (no entrance). The eastern façade features a basement entrance in the wall base. The windows are topped with segmental arches. They are adorned with plasterwork surrounds terminating slightly above the window sills. The side gables are timber-framed structures. The western façade features a side avant-corps on the right hand side, with two windows at the first-floor level; the same arrangement is also present on its ground-floor level, except that one of the window is bricked up. A ceramic frieze incorporating the motif of a fish bladder inside a circle separates the individual storeys of the avant-corps.

The manor house is surrounded by a park and accompanied by a utility building and a pumping facility building. Both structures are made of red brick. The park, stretching towards the south and the east, is distinguished by its admirable clarity of composition.

Today, the building serves as the offices of the Foundation for a More Beautiful World as well as a school. The manor house can be viewed from the outside.
