The structure was built as a sign of gratitude.

History

The chapel was erected in the late 18th century. It was founded by the local Thienel family. The chapel was built as a sign of gratitude for the birth of a child despite the late age of the parents. The founders brought a painting of the Holy Family from the Holy See and placed it in the chapel; the painting has not survived to this day. At present, the chapel is maintained by the parish in Rudziczka and the inhabitants of the village.

Description

The chapel is located picturesquely on a slope at the south-eastern edge of the village, between the properties at 92 Rudziczka and 102 Rudziczka, and is surrounded by trees. Its gable faces the road. The structure was built on a rectangular floor plan with the main body closed off on three sides and a narrower quadrangular tower incorporated in it to the west. The main body is covered with a multi-faceted roof, while the tower is topped with a simplified cupola with a hexagonal lantern. The chapel is made of brick and features plastered façades and a separate ground course intended to eliminate elevation differences. The façades of the tower are covered with framework decoration. The side façades are articulated with blind windows topped with semicircular arches and on the axis the façades are accentuated with a pointed-arched entrance with a window opening above it. The façades of the main body are accentuated with a window openings topped with semicircular arches to the north and south, and a round window to the east.

The monument is open to visitors. It is surrounded by trees and barely visible from the road.
