History

Already in the 1st half of the 15th century, the town was divided into Hawłowice Górne and Hawłowice Dolne (Upper and Lower Hawłowice). At that time two manor farms already functioned there: the lower one belonging to the Rozborski family and the upper one belonging to the Próchnicki family. Subsequent owners of Hawłowice Górne were: Pieniążek, Trzciński, Komorowski, Horodyński, Zaklik and Wolski families. After World War II the property was partitioned and an Agricultural Production Cooperative was established on a part thereof. Currently, a part of the former property returned to the last owners’ hands - the Wolski family.

The first known settlement was a masonry manor house, partially preserved until now, from the turn of the 16th and 17th century. Next, this building served as a chapel, during the Reformation it was probably an Aryan church, later it was used as a manor kitchen and a granary; its architectural form must have evolved over time. The new manor house with corner extensions was erected in the mid- 18th century and altered in the first half of the 19th century by Kazimierz Zaklik. It has survived in a fragmented form that does not even arouse associations with a manor house. Similarly, the landscape park, established in the first half of the 19th century, has survived only in a residual form.

Description

The complex, consisting of a masonry manor house and remnants of a park, is located in the northern part of a longitudinally arranged town, on the northern side of a local road, on a plateau of an elevation, at the foot of which, on its northern side, a system of ponds of the neighbouring manor complex can be seen. It is restricted in the south and east by a local road, in the north by Jodłówka stream and in the west by buildings and greenery of the manor complex in neighbouring Hawłowice Dolne.

The former manor house is located in the southern part of the complex, at its western border, at the foot of an escarpment. It does not present any evident stylistic features after alterations.

The preserved form of the original manor house has a rectangular floor plan. It is a one-storey building with a basement, covered with a quite massive half-hip roof considerably projecting ahead of the building’s contour, thus forming archways on all sides resting on wooden pillars. The building is made of stone, with a wood-shingle roof and weatherboarded gable. The front, east façade has a single axis with an entrance to the room on the ground floor; below the ground level there is a separate entrance to the basement. The south façade has two axes and relatively small, two-winged windows with eight-panel glazing of every wing; the windows include bars. A single-bay, vaulted interior has four lunettes and is decorated with wall paintings.

Remnants of the park, with an already blurred arrangement, include largely depleted old tree stands with prevailing lime, maple and oak trees.

The manor constitutes private property.
