History

Already in the 1st half of the 15th century, the town was divided into Hawłowice Górne and Hawłowice Dolne (Upper and Lower Hawłowice). At that time two manor farms already functioned there: the lower one belonging to the Rozborski family and the upper one belonging to the Próchnicki family. Subsequently, Hawłowice Dolne belonged to the Broniewski, Świętosławski, Trzciński, Nieborowski families, bishops of Przemyśl (for around 100 years in the 18th century), followed by Dembiński, Kotowski, Zaklik, Żurowski families and, finally, Dworski family - the last pre-war owners. Until the 19th century all settlements of the nobility were built of wood, only in the early 19th century, upon initiative of Wojciech Dembiński, a Classicist, masonry manor house was erected, which was expanded by an annex in the north in the second half of the 19th century. Equipment of the manor house was destroyed during World War I and its interior was adapted to the needs of a primary school after World War II. After passing the complex over to a private owner, the architectural form of the manor house was reconstructed. Buildings of the former manor complex survived within the area: a granary, a stable and a living quarter (not subject to monument preservation) as well as a relatively extensive park with ponds.

Description

The complex, consisting of a brick manor house and a park, is located in the northern part of the town, on the northern side of a local road. In the east it neighbours on the manor complex in Hawłowice Górne, in the north on the Dulcza river valley and on meadows and arable fields in the west. The manor house stands in the centre of the complex, its front faces west and features a porte-cochère directly in front of it.

The Classicist manor house was erected on an elongated rectangular floor plan with two small annexes in the north and south. A rectangular, one-storey body is covered with a hip roof, diversified at the front by a recessed colonnaded portico in the Giant Order with a gable roof and framed by two small dormers with three-sloped roofs and three identical ones in the eastern roof cover. A small annex on the northern side is covered by a multi-hipped roof, whereas a southern annex is topped with a three-sloped roof. The body above the ground and vaulted basements are made of brick, while the roof is clad with sheet.

A four-column recessed portico, whose triangular gable is supported by four Tuscan columns with small fluted columns embellish a ten-axis, symmetric front façade in the west. In the background, above the entrance opening, mezzanine windows are visible.

The east façade has ten axes and asymmetrically arranged openings, shorter façades are partially obscured by annexes. Façade planes are diversified by strips in plasterwork, corners are additionally accentuated by lesenes and the entire building is circumscribed by a profiled crowning cornice with a flat frieze. The interior was arranged as a two-bay one with a two-storey hall and a drawing room along the axis.

The manor house is surrounded by a landscape park established in the 19th century; numerous old tree stands, mainly oak, chestnut tree and lime, have survived. The immediate vicinity of the manor house is occupied by vast clearings with loosely scattered oaks and ash trees; a system of ponds has survived in the northern part.

The manor house is a private property; it houses a horse riding centre and a banquet centre; viewing is possible upon permission.
