History
The Gardener’s House was erected in the 1780s, and its construction accompanied the alteration works in the palace itself, carried out following the acquisition of the manor by the von Mutius family from the von Matuschka family. Somewhere around the year 1990, a porch was added to the eastern side of the house.
Description
The Gardener’s House is located in the north-eastern corner of the park, forming part of the stone perimeter wall that surrounds the site. Remnants of the former greenhouse adjoin the western façade of the building. The remnants of the former greenhouse adjoin the western façade of the building. Initially designed on a rectangular floor plan, the single-storey building follows a two-bay layout, with a small basement in the north-eastern corner. The house is covered with a hip roof with two slopes on each side, clad with ceramic beaver tail roof tiles arranged in a “lace” pattern. Made of brick, plastered. Some of the architectural detailing (balusters, window surrounds) are made of sandstones. Inside, the ceiling structure is made of wood and features the use of counter-ceilings. The window openings are rectangular in shape. The northern façade is four-axial, the southern one six-axial, the windows are partially bricked up. In the southern façade, a row of decorative balusters can be seen below each window, with a cornice running directly above.
The palace may be viewed from the outside.
